Deaf Awareness Day at Dollywood includes interpretation of various shows, attractions and craft demonstrations. Interpreters will be on hand to assist hearing impaired guests throughout the day.

They also will be available to aid hearing impaired guests in locating key park locations such as the turnstiles, restrooms, first aid stations and information booths. An interpreter will be on hand for the park's weekly church service at 11:30 a.m. in the Robert F. Thomas Chapel.

"Dollywood is especially proud of its participation in Deaf Awareness Day," said Barbara Joines, VP/general manager.

The University of Tennessee's Educational Interpreting Program coordinates Interpreters for Deaf Awareness Day. Approximately 60 interpreters participate in the event.
