OK so someone mentioned to me that I should start keeping an excercise journal - but only problem is I have a hard time keeping personal journals and blogs sooooooo I thought Id start a fit thread here. Anyone is welcome to post anything they want in it including their own goals and accomplishments in excercise.
Let me give you some background:
I used to run cross country and track during high school and was on the Sr High Varsity Team my junior and senior years. I really liked running believe it or not and I always had this "You can't break me, Coach." mentality. I can remember really feeling sexy in my own body, and being able to wear just about anything I wanted. But then I went to college, dropped out then got married then had a baby and ever since 2004 Ive slowly been creeping towards 180lbs.
My lowest weight is 115 pounds, which actually looks pretty darned good on a 5'4" frame. If theres anything worse than being overweight alone, it is a constant fluctuating weight that is rapid. What I need to get to a healthy weight and maintain that weight for a period of years.
Last week I started running with an old friend of mine that is big into running - think marathons on a regular basis and he's been helping me get back into running. We have been meeting at the track and running a mile and each week we add another lap to it slowly building endurance. Along those lines I have been trying to watch what I eat more carefully. I normally dont eat while I am at work and its hard to because I work with alot of raw meat and its just hard to keep an appeitite. This usually sets me up to pig out all afternoon.
So in addition to running a mile in the evenings three days a week with a friend, I plan on changing my afternoon eating habits to where instead of reaching for a handful of M&Ms, I need to reach for an apple or carrot. I need to eat less meat and more fruits and vegetables, save for the mashed potatoes.
You can post your goals and what not in this thread, encourage one another or chastise one another.
I doubt I will post my weights, but I'll let you know when Ive dropped a pants size. I dont have a set goal of losing x-amount of pounds by a certain date, I just know I want to be healthier than yesterday and tomorrow I will be healthier than I am today.
So with no further adue:
