I'm not trying to knock your dissertation or your survey. I would like, though, if you stated what EXACTLY your dissertation is on. "Communication between deaf and hearing communities" is very vague and does not give us any real idea of what your argument is or what the synthesis of the data will be. What exactly are you looking at in communication between the two? You're not the first to do this, you know. So what makes your dissertation unique?

I also don't want you to apologize; I just want you to uphold academic standards and collect research in an ethical manner. You must know that the data you are collecting on this BB is not valid for presentation, right? In any survey, you must vet your interviewees and make sure they are trustworthy and appropriate candidates. There is a big difference between deaf and Deaf individuals. In this thread, you have received responses from both, but how would you know that?

And I don't buy your "I couldn't find anyone and I'm running out of time" excuse. That simply tells me that you didn't put the effort into your proposal (you need to know who your subjects will be before you interview) or your research practices. Did you even have to write a prospectus?
