I had a 2 hour delay today. Because the roads were so slick and so cold outside. It was 8 degrees out here today. We have another 2 hour delay again tomorrow morning..BRRRRR... I think we will be in the low 10 degrees again tomorrow morning. It's suppose to grow warmer by the end of next week. So thats gonna be between wednesday and friday. The 2 hour delay kind of screwed up our exams schedule today (the jan 15th) and will be screwing us up again tomorrow. We get to school around 9ish... school usually starts around 7ish for us but everyone gets to school around 6 or between 7 and 7:20 AM. And we had a quick schedule today. We have a 2 hour testing exam in the morning. then we had a 45 minute lunch instead of our usual 1 hour lunch. Then we had a another exam testing for another 2 hours until the end of the school day. Tomorrow i only have one more exam to do. And then I can leave school early because i have no 7th period exam..yay.

What about you guys? Did you guys have school closed or 2 hour delays???
 
My children are grown up, but I know a lot of Iowa schools were closed or delayed today because of the cold.

It was the coldest it has been in over ten years.
 
i don't have any children, but all private and public schools were closed in my area due to the subzero windchill.
 
Our school closed today at the last minute because of extreme cold. Because high schoolers from my school has to wait at the bus stop or walk to school and they didn't want that so we got a bonus today..but I do have drumline practice...ughh..oh well. At least i will get to stay at home and relax for a while.
 
oh my kids schools seem to be too stubborn to stay OPEN lately! I recall that kids school were closed once since now. :mad2: there were couple of times that kids schools were open until in the afternoon to announce that the kids need to go home. i was forced myself to drive in the nasty stormsnow and got my kids home safe. I pray that kids schools will be closed next week. i need a break from work so i can use this gooood excuase. :giggle:

Today my kids schools are open, of course. but in the other towns in their areas that schools are closed. :mad2:
 
Some counties opened late yesterday but today, all of them opened on time. 13 degrees is not dangerously cold.
 
The reason why we had a snow day today was because of dangerous wind chills.. its about -10 degrees. at first, last night they said we were going to have a 2 hour delay. but then around midnight i think they closed alot of schools. most elementary schools had a 2 hour delay either in huber heights or in vandilia, Ohio. So later, i'm leaving around 5:30pm for my practice at school with the winter drum-line. But i think that once we get back to school on tuesday (i think) we will have to continue on our last 2 exams that we were suppose to do today. so today i spend my day relaxing. because i was really tired and stressed with all the stuff thats been going on.
