Did any of you see recently on PBS a documentary about Delta 32. If you haven't I encourage you to look it up.

The Pnumonic Plague hit Europe in I think the 1500's. A researcher wanted to know why some people survived it. To make a long story short, he found out that something in (I think) the DNA mutated and prevented people from getting the disease. The researcher called the mutation Delta 32.

The amazing part of it, and they showed this on PBS, is that people today still carry Delta 32 in their biological systems and it prevents them from getting AIDS.

Their is a guy that is alive because he carries it. His blood was put in test tubes, and then the AIDS virus was put in somehow, and his blood was the only one in the sample that was not infected.

Isn't that amazing. If I can find the website, I'll post it.

Hi, I have the websites. Sorry this didn't get posted on current events. I guess it should have been but I found the show so very facinating. There are a small group of people that can never get AIDS no matter what they do.

I remember seeing this programme a while ago, and found it to be really interesting too, how some people survived the Black Plague, then their descendants emigranted to America and so on. Some people just are plainly lucky, I guess. Hard to believe though!

Interesting about the HIV virus not infecting blood samples with Delta 32! Anything is possible. HIV/AIDS cure doesn't sound too far away around the corner.

I already knew about that there are a handful of people in the world that are immune to HIV, because I've heard of it few years ago. I just learned from this post it's called delta 32, interesting it runs thru the generations by the mutanted DNA. I wish I am immune from HIV. :D

Yup, I know some people are immune to ones, while others are not.

I remember the lice epedimic at my high school, and I was one of handful students that didn't get single lice thoughout while some students got hit several times. Majority of them got lice at least once. Weird!
