DeaFestival-Kentucky 2010 is changing venues for this year’s celebration and is taking place in Horse Cave, KY. DeaFestival-Kentucky is a comprehensive biennial celebration of deaf cultural and artistic activities and performances. DeaFestival is an opportunity for deaf and hard of hearing vendors, artists, crafters and performers to share their heritage, culture, values, and talents with other deaf and hard of hearing alike. The hearing community has the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of visual wonders. Those who attend gain understanding, awareness, and a better appreciation of the artistic talents and visual wonders surrounding deafness. This year’s celebration consists of four main attractions: The main stage SpotLights, which displays the creative talents of storytellers, dancers and theatrical performances; the Children’s Program We Communicate; the Visual Artist Studio at the historic Thomas House location; and a new attraction this year, Jam Tent, which allows a variety of deaf and hard of hearing musical artists to perform.
