A special report from the Swedish handicapped society says that most of the youngsters who are deaf or have other hearing problems get no help at school.
This results in many of these pupils and students lagging behind in their class, having difficulties moving on to higher education – and being forced to take less fulfilling employment for the rest of their working lives.
The worse situation seems to be in Stockholm – where the authorities admit they are not even aware of the situation of 2/3rds of the disabled youngsters needing extra help.
