THE Scottish deaf rugby team has issued an appeal for new players to come forward and discover the excitement of playing international rugby.
The Scottish Deaf international side has played matches around the world and is preparing for the Deaf World Championships in Cardiff next August-September.
The Scotland squad have two away internationals lined up for the spring of 2008, against Wales on Saturday 9 February and England on Sunday 9 March, and is looking for adult male players, regardless of age or experience, who are deaf, hard of hearing or hearing-impaired.
To qualify for the side, prospective team members must have a 25dB average hearing loss between both ears, be Scottish-born, born of Scottish parent or grandparent or resident in Scotland for a minimum of three years. Players must also be current members of a rugby club.
