my 4 yEAR OLD GRANDCHILD IS DEAF WE ARE HAVING A VERY HARD TIME FINDING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES IN OUR SMALL AREA IN MICHIGAN ...and the public school here is being very difficult he just got a coclier implant he dose'nt talk or sign and needs education services they don't have here in Constantine mi the nearest deaf school is over 100 miles away from where we live any body that can help please let us know we're at a loss

If he is four and doesn't speak or sign, you had better get in touch with the deaf school and get him some kind of early intervention.

It's getting late in his life for brain development. No matter how far the school, you need to get in touch with them.

Contact Michagan School for the Deaf and see if they can evaluate your grandson. You most likely will have to move for good services. If I was the parent of a dhh kid in an area where there weren't a lot of good services, I would MOVE.....Are you guys closer to another state's borders? (so you can take advantage of their state's Deaf Schools) What about dhh programs?

Call the Deaf school. They may have itinerant teacher for your grandson.
