How many people that are deaf and hard of hearing in USA? I think it's about 28 millions.

Between 18- and 32-million deaf/hard-of-hearing/hearing loss.

Sadly, no one has the accurate estimates.

Why are there no accurate estimates? I've always wondered this. Is it because some people do not like to admit they are deaf or HOH? Is it a cultural thing? Or perhaps it doesn't appear on the census so there is no true way to count.

I wish there was an accurate way to tell, and break it down by region or state.

I don't know why they don't bother counting deaf/hard hearing population with the census data. Oh well. We would get better numbers than a very rough estimate.
