Why are there no accurate estimates? I've always wondered this. Is it because some people do not like to admit they are deaf or HOH? Is it a cultural thing? Or perhaps it doesn't appear on the census so there is no true way to count.
I wish there was an accurate way to tell, and break it down by region or state.
I don't know why they don't bother counting deaf/hard hearing population with the census data. Oh well. We would get better numbers than a very rough estimate.
