The Brandon Sun: Online Edition
The deaf owner of a hearing dog that was run over and killed wants the driver to step forward to explain why her beloved pet is dead.
Deborah Johnston is looking for answers after Keesha, her fluffy brown and white pomeranian, was struck outside her Second Avenue home.
“I’m not the kind of person to hate people, I just want to know what happened,” said Johnston, who has been deaf her whole life. Keesha was killed Sept. 22 by a driver who didn’t stop to check if the dog was dead or wounded and didn’t try to find her owner, police said.
