A 23-year-old deaf-mute in Talisay City, yesterday claimed she was gang-raped by four persons Tuesday near the San Diego Pro-Cathedral in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld by the DAILY STAR, told the police through sign language that she was mauled by the four suspects who took their turns in raping her.
The medical examination of the victim, however, showed no indication that she was sexually-molested, although some abrasions were noted in her breast, Police Officer 1 Nanette Laurilla, chief of the Silay Women and Children Concerned Desk, said.
Laurilla yesterday called on people who may have witnessed the incident to surface and help identify the suspects.
Through the help of her mother, the victim described three of her four assailants as one who drives a motorcycle, a bald person and the other with a mustache, the police said.
The victim, who has two children aged two years and one-month old, had been molested twice when she was still residing in Talisay City two years ago.
Aside from being a deaf-mute, Laurilla said the victim had never gone to school.
