MEMBERS of the Peterborough and district deaf children's society celebrated the launch of a new website at the Big Sky Adventure Play last week.

More than 70 children and adults joined in the annual get-together at the city activity centre for fun, food and drink.

The website was set up as a channel of communication for children and parents so they can read newsletters, check the diary and find links to other organisations.

Society chairman Andy Palmer said: “Everyone had a great time at the party. Over the last three years, the club membership has grown from 13 members to 55 members.

“We already have one member on our site and have had 300 hits.

“The feedback so far has been very positive, and we will make a commitment to keep the site updated and hope it will be a great success.”

The society works to remove some of the assumptions surrounding deaf children.
