A deaf footballer with dreams of playing for her country has been selected Great Britain team.

Premi Pushpalingham, from Stanmore, plays for Fulham Deaf Ladies Football and last week was Great Britain Deaf Women Football Team for the Deaflympics Games this summer.

The 22-year-old former Harrow College student is a regular volunteer with the Harrow Asian Deaf club and now has to raise £2000 to take part on the games in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Asif Iqbal MBE, President of Harrow Asian Deaf Club said: “Premi has been very supportive of Harrow Asian Deaf Club as a volunteer, helping us with events and supporting with the children activities.

“Everyone at HADC are very proud of her when she told us that she has been selected to represent Great Britain Deaf Women Football team and that it was one of her dreams and is a fantastic achievement for her to come this far.

“Premi is an excellent role model and an inspiration for many deaf young people.”
