You may be aware that I often drop off items to be auctioned off every week or every other week. Well, anyway....

The woman who was doing intake for items I dropped off to be auctioned off today was on her 2nd day on the job. While doing intake, someone was looking at my inventory and asked how much the vintage yellow Nelson sprinkler was. The woman wrote down what he was asking for. I gave him a price and he bought it from me. I was lucky to have the woman doing intake for me. If it was someone else, they would have told the person to bid on it in auction. It was very nice that the woman went out of her way for me.

This makes me wonder if I have had other people walk by me and asking if any of my items were for sale, but may have been pushed away by people who do intakes. Every time I do intakes, I get experienced males. It was different having a rookie woman doing intake.

You know that auction places usually don't like it if people sell items directly to other people. They want as many items to go via auction so that they can get more money for themselves. I don't think that people who do my intake get share of sales prices. I think they get paid by hourly. I would think they should not mind, but maybe they would get fired if a person sold directly to other person under their watch.

I like auctions to buy things, but if I sell I do it at a flea market. I am never alone so I don't have to worry about not hearing them. =3
