Deaf composer unveils work
A SERIES of four world premieres by a deaf Edinburgh composer are to be performed in the Capital.
James Douglas has written a series of 75 works - each dedicated to a person or group who has helped him since a chronic ear infection caused him to go deaf 14 years ago.
Four of his latest works from the "Christ Church Sequence" - named for the Morningside church in which they are to be premiered - are to be performed next month.
A spokesman for his publishers, Caritas, said: "To compose 75 works, of which approximately 60 have been recorded and commercially released, is truly remarkable."
The concert will take place at 7.30pm on April 22.
This is unusual!
