WAFB Channel 9, Baton Rouge, LA |Date set for Louisiana School for the Deaf reopening
The Department of Education says next Wednesday all students at the Louisiana School for the Deaf will be allowed back on campus.
State Superintendent Paul Pastorek originally said the school would reopen in phases in order to finish implementing new security measures ordered after allegations of sexual incidents involving staff and students.
However, because the upgrade process has gone faster than expected, Pastorek now says a phased-in reopening won't be necessary.
School officials say residential students will be picked up Tuesday.
Day students will be picked up Wednesday morning.
