William Weyman Jr. has filed as a candidate for mayor of Danville for the second time.
He withdrew from the race Tuesday but decided to run again Wednesday because some friends asked him to reconsider his decision.
"People were upset and need jobs very badly," he said when asked why he changed his mind.
The candidate has promised to make major changes in town, add additional parking garages, build a new police station, and give contractors tax breaks to build a mall.
He also wants to build a cafe and hotel for deaf residents.
He said earlier he wanted the cafe and hotel on the Kentucky School for the Deaf campus but said Wednesday it would be impossible because it is government property.
Weyman moved in 2001 to Danville from New Jersey.
