I am a Canon camera lover. I own three canon cameras: Canon PowerShot A75, red 35mm canon SLR camera, and original 35mm Canon SLR camera, I think, AE-1 (I don't remember the specific names on last two cameras..LOL). Now, I am looking for a thin, lightweight camera for party, etc. I do have Canon PowerShot A75, but I feel it is bit heavy for me to carry around.

Now, I am weighing on purchasing either Canon SD500 or SD550, but I am more interested in getting Canon SD500 after researching and comparing the specs and prices on both two digital cameras except one.

According to Epinion.com, SD500 operating system requires MS XP Professional which I don't have. SD550 requires XP as operating system (for pictures downloading directly from digital camera). Perhaps, Epinion may be wrong.

I don't know if SD500 allows me to download the pictures on XP instead of XP Professional, so I will find out when I go to the stores to check the specs out.

Any suggestions?

Hmm Where you find a info that OS requirees M$ XP Pro? It is not true. It would work with XP home great and no problem.

SD500 is great digital camera unlike SD400.

SD500 and SD550 are almost same but just LCD size.

SD500 is more safe than SD550 because too many SD550 have break LCD so easy.
Let me take a pix then upload here.

Thanks, Neo for helpful information. Check the comparison between SD500 and SD550 on www.epinion.com. You will see why epinion said that SD500 requires XP Professional for operating system which I found it odd or impossible.

I take your word for it because you has a keen knowledge of Canon. Now, I am leaning on SD500 instead of SD550. Thank you again for your input! :thumb: First of all, I will save money before I buy SD500 camera.

Mookie, very funny. Hmm, I should try pinhole camera for my odd pictures. :laugh2:
