Colorado Approves Historic New Gun Laws

but ban on high capacity ammunition magazines will get end up on referendum ballot or halt by the court.

I have no issue with stricter background check, though.

I bet this will TOTALLY end gun violence in Colorado!

Will? Probably not.

That what pro-gun rallies say and they will try to do it.

I believe their movement will be success because Colorado is traditionally gun friendly state.

This is joke! I won't be surprise that new law will survive.

Like I said in the past if one really want to kill somebody the best gun is shotgun. Wanna proof? This news really strange, it was meant to be practical joke to begin with and turned into deadly joke. He took apart a ammo for his shotgun, empty the shell except wad and gun powder, filling it with cigarettes. Mind you, cigarettes are soft, right? WRONG! His roommate got killed by cigarettes that was shot out of shotgun. Hence how lethal shotgun is.

Gun control will NOT help reduce and I will not be surprise that gun crimes will go up.

So CP, don't get too excite too soon!

The goal of the gun control is to reduce mass murder, not homicide. That's it. Of course, there will be gun violence involving handguns, shotguns, etc because those gun controls don't ban them except assault weapons. DUH!

Colorado has had 2 "mass shootings" killing a total of 27 people in the last 14 years. That is 2 people a year. Overreact much?

And then the thought that some believe this will actually stop a crazy person is hilarious.

Yeah! Sad that CP don't see that way.

LOL! Your so funny!

Trust me, there WILL be another mass murder EVEN if they got tighter gun control and whats difference between Murder and Homicide? They both means SAME thing just that Homicide is "formal" word for Murder that is all.

History already proved,

Moonshine illegal, right? But people STILL doing moonshine. Narcotics illegal for the last 40 years right? Had they made dent on Narcotics trade? Nope! the opposite! They made worse than it was 40 years ago.

You STILL don't get my point, there is always have back door for black market. we can not stop black market but if we tighten laws and controls, black market will only grow bigger and stronger, very dangerous situation to be in. That is where you don't get it.

Looking at these laws from a purely technical perspective there is absolutely nothing that makes anyone any safer. They will do nothing to reduce deaths or incidents. They are simply a tactic to get a foot in the door for more legislation.

You don't even need a black market. There are already tens of thousands of grandfathered 30 rounders in Colorado. Beside, it's all moot anyway. I've already discussed that there are plenty of other guns that are just as capable, including bolt action and pump action so I wont go into all that again.

You got it right, but when it becomes illegal, how many people already have one? That is perfect opportunities for these current owners doing black market business. Just that when ban begins, black market follows.

Whats more, not just that but how many engineers, machinist, production operators out there that knows how to make em.... Can make it at home easily and start black market business, so that adds up more opportunities. scary? Yes, you bet!

These are several reason why I STILL think gun control is plain stupid, and truly unamerican.

In order for ban to become effective, it will take at least 300 years to make difference, and we all will be dead before that time, so its moot point.

WTF? (Turning my head around to check if you are talking to somebody else behind me). Are you talking to me?

BTW, if the Supreme Court doesn't find it unconstitutional, I win so will you please send me Jiro's Special Edition Sunglasses for free?

I'm not sure about the supreme court but I predict the 2014 elections will show how the majority of the people in Colorado feel about these laws. There was a lot of out of state money and influence that got these laws passed despite large public protest.
