I don't know much at all about hearing aids. I'm still trying to get my first pair. It's been about almost a year now since my hearing decreased drastically from when I was little to now. I only have 30% of my hearing left and my clinic keeps trying to send me to towns really far away. No where in my town accepts my coverage. I was given a pair of hearing aids from my friend, but when I went to go get them adjusted to me, they said the hearing aids were too old and it'd be really hard to find the parts for it. I wanted to try and get Starkey BTE, but i haven't had much luck finding a place that has them in my town. Within the next couple weeks I'm going to try and meet up with one audiologist in my town to see if they could help me. If not, I have to find a place here in my town that I could set a payment plan up for my aids. Anyway I didn't know you could change the color of your molds. How do you do that? Or any tips on how or what I should do to try and get my hearing aids.

when the audiologist makes the earmold impressions of your ears, just let him/her know what color(s) you want for your earmolds, and they'll order the specific color(s) you want.

Lions Club does help with hearing aids I think. There's vocational rehab, they will pay for hearing aids so you can get use them at college or work. And Starkey actually as a program to help those get hearing aids, check out their page: Hear Now — Starkey Hearing Foundation
