Celebs at an awareness march-Mumbai-Parties-Entertainment-The Times of India
This was a rally no doubt, but a silent one. No, it wasn’t a protest, rather, it was an awareness march for the cause of the deaf, on the occasion of World Deaf Day on Sunday.
Organised by Alok Kumar Kejriwal and Sunil Sahasrabudha, the rally took place at the Gateway of India. Children and elders alike, hard of hearing, walked the Gateway with banners and placards with messages to the public and the government, for greater awareness of their cause.
Colourful tri-coloured balloons coupled with the painted faces of the children added a splash of colour to the march. The chirpy Raageshwari, herself dressed in a bright green tee, a full-of-energy Raell Padamsee, Shaina NC and Anil Dharker were part of the rally, and showed their solidarity towards this cause.
They spoke of the rights and needs of the deaf, and even communicated with them in sign language. Time for us to wake up and smell the coffee, what say?
