[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_wQ7iL19z8]Amazing footage of a cat breastfeeding ducklings!! - YouTube[/ame]

A cat, a mother of three kittens, adopted three orphaned ducklings and started nursing and caring for them them along with her own.

Ronan and Emma Lally, from Clare Co Offaly, Ireland, were surprised to learn that their cat took in the ducklings instead of harming them. “The minute the cat lay down the three ducklings run underneath her. She started to purr,” Ronan said via independent.ie.

“We lifted her up and two ducklings were latched onto the cat. The cat has all the material instinct, she has her paw around them and it is just extraordinary.”

“The cat thinks they are all kittens. The cat might notice when the yellow kittens get very big,” he added.

Cute ,but I hope the all 3 kittens are able to nurse too as it looks like one was having a hard time nursing. I didn't think ducklings would know how to nurse . It's amazing how animals can adapt to stay alive.
That will be very funny when the ducks start to follow the cat around like she their mother.

I didnt know ducklings can do drink suck or drink milk.. cool.

I know , like how did they know what to do??? Mother ducks do not nurse their babies . I guess they saw the kittens nursing and copy them. I am going to send this to my niece , she is a wildlife specialist and she studies birds .

I found another utube of the cat/duck family and all the babies are fine . The ducks look bigger that the kittens LOL!

Smart cat, fatten them up for later!

:laugh2:

no i didnt think the cat is really THAT smart...or that Evil...animals don't have evilness like humans does...now come think of it, is Evil a cultural thing more to the point ... an aspect of thoughts relating to ability to conceptualize wrong doing , er refusal to acknowledge wrong-doing which is in part refusal to follow clan rules for 'helping' or 'caring' or 'forethought of harm to another' that is, the Culture /cultural rules grew out of clan's rulings??

Cats are somewhat solo predators...

My neighbor's cat that lives the bottom of my street loves to hunt for mice in my condo backyard and he is pretty good at catching mice , I saw him with his mouth stuffed with a mouse a couple of times . He bring them home to the woman of house. Lucky her!
