I am having trouble calling my friends vp from my laptop, the viable vision program wants the public ip address which i dont have. where can i find the public ip address of my friends vp?

you have to ask them. they will have to check their ip address and give you, after all they ARE your friends right?

...

Donnie has the friends vp phone number, is their any way to get the ip from that, his friends are out of state and dont email.

Rather than use an IP address, you should ask your friend for their 10 digit phone number for their video phone.

The IP address is actually stored in the Neustar iTRS database by your friend's videophone provider, and Viable looks that up to place the call to your friend's phone.

Using IP addresses for VP dialing simply doesn't work with many videophones today, including Purple P3 and nTouch, as they use a gateway IP address instead of giving each videophone its own IP address to call.

So, again, ask your friend for their 10 digit phone number. This is really the best thing to have to call them.

Again, you should not need to know your friend's IP address if you have your friend's VP phone number. You should be able to dial your friend's VP phone number from your VP and it should Just Work.

If it does not Just Work, then you should contact your VRS provider and have a chat with them. If they cannot help you, you should consider switching VRS providers to one that has a videophone that supports dialing iTRS 10 digit phone numbers for your friends.
