California "Informational Brochure" AB2072

Should you not feed the baby because you don't know what kind of food it likes?

Maybe we shouldn't put kids in school because we don't know if they like school.

Let them run around naked because we don't know what their favorite color is.

Don't immunize them because the needle might cause them to have PTSD.

Nah....making decisions for the child is the parents job. They have to make the best decisions they can for THEIR child regardless of what other people think. Of course they have to live with those decisions too. *shrug*

Oh, come off it, please. I am not talking about that at all (above what you had mentioned) except to have surgery on the baby for CI which it is not needed until the child get old enough to understand what a CI is. I would rather have them be natural without surgery until later when the child want to have CI or not. So don't be stupid like that. You should know better and be smart, eh?

Many people disagree with you. They believe much of the benefit is lost by waiting. Personally I have no opinion since my kid is grown. I have no idea what I would choose if I were in this situation. But I respect a parents right to choose the best option for THEIR child. They have to weigh all of the facts and the choice is tough enough without the societal pressure from the anti CI crowd. :)

And yes...before someone brings up old posts....I used to be anti CI for babies. But no I refuse to fault a parent either way for making an informed decision for what is best for THEIR child.

I support informed choice. Without choice being informed, it is really no choice at all.
