DELAVAN, Wis. - Eric Humlicek rushed for 272 yards on 15 carries and scored six touchdowns for Iowa Deaf in a 68-12 season opening win over Wisconsin Deaf in Great Plains Schools for the Deaf Conference football action Saturday.

Humlicek added 17 tackles after going 75 yards for a touchdown on the econd play of the game.

"Eric had a great day," said Bobcats coach Mark Murray. "We had several players with great games."

Jay Haar completed two touchdown passes and interecepted a pass on defense while Mack Weyers recorded 19 tackles.

"I saw a few things we need to clean up on offense," said Murray. "We made some mistakes, but overall it was a good performance."

The Bobcats roared to a 40-6 lead by halftime and cruised to the win.

Iowa Deaf will play host to Kansas Deaf next week in a rematch of last years game which was the only loss of 2004 for the Bobcats.

"We have them at our place this year," said Murray. "We haven't lost at home for the last two season.'
