On Nov.17, 11 a.m., the Beverly School for the Deaf's students, their families, staff, trustees and community members will come together in the school's gymnasium to share some good will, good food and good company.
A home-cooked meal by family, staff and students will be shared with all who are interested in joining the festivities. Attendees will be asked to participate in a true Thanksgiving activity by expressing something for which they are grateful. Modes of expression will vary. Some will use a form of sign language, some might speak, some might use a computerized communication method and others might just smile. The commonality of Thanksgiving will bring the group together despite any communication differences.
Beverly School for the Deaf is located at 6 Echo Avenue off Elliott Street in Beverly. The event is open to the public. For more information on the school or this event, call 978 927-7070 x 200 or TTY 978 927-7200.
