Best tip for weeds?

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a best way to kill those stupid weeds without killing flowers, grasses etc? I wanted natural way not with nasty chemicals from the hardware store or garden store, etc.

I just pulled weeds but I am not done. I don't want my back get hurt. Plus it is wet outside.

Any suggestions/feedbacks or tips would be great so that will keep in my mind for future. Also I am sure other ADers would love to have those awesome tips as well!

BWT I am not a GREEN THUMB! So I am trying my best to keep yard look nice.

I didn't know much about killing weeds before I found Lowe's website. It helped to reduce the weeds on my lawn. Hope it make your lawn pretty. :)

Controlling Weeds
 
In order to remove weeds in a natural way, you gotta do the hard way. You need to remove their roots by using a small shovel to remove the base and root system out of the soil. The weeds will grow back if you don't pull out the roots. Other way, you could use a special tool that twists out weeds from the roots and dump it.
 
I've used Ortho's Weed-B-Gon with good results. It does not seem to hurt the environment or other growth. :) Dave
 
Hard way? Geez..I hate pulling weeds! UGH! I pulled them out espeically outside is wet and so easy to pull out all the way. :)

Have DHB rig a cultivator behind his Gold Wing and take care of the weeds. LOL!
 
since u already have flowers there.. then i cant help u with that as i dont believe in chemicals as they can hurt the environment..

one thing i know.. next time u are landscaping your yard.. some kind of liner? i am not sure what name it is? but anyway u put the liner on ground.. then put soil over top of the liner.. spread out the seeds and water it.. let it grow.. thats one i know that will prevent weeds.. weeds cant grow thru the liner.. just a thought.
 
There is no flower on it. I wanted to PLANT it. So before I do, I wanted weeds are GONE first. Then I can go ahead plant it in the spring time.

OH yeah..I know what you mean about the black liner...Yea I plan do that when spring is coming in then start work on the flower bed.

no flowers?? then u can do it.. do like what i say... clear out the weeds.. i know hoe can help loosen the weeds.. then pick them up alot faster.. and plus easy on your back? rather than havin to kneel and bend and do it the hard way..
 
Yea I plan do that tomorrow afternoon. I will have to send DHB to get the black liner..I am not sure if we have any left over from the patio.

Yeah the black sheet liners works great but the small problem is, weeds will still grow where ever you plant the flowers at, all you need to do is buy those weed killer spray that doesn't harm no plants (read the spray bottle before buying it ), sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't just have to pull them out...since you said there's no plants or flowers only weeds, then have your bf pull them out afterall isn't that part of the men's job?....
