Belgium Islamic Center Provides Special Services to the Deaf
Islamic Center in Belgium will set up a department of Islamic educations for the deaf and the Muslim citizens with hearing deficiency.
According to the official website of the center, a group of the deaf Muslims and some of the members of the center decided to open the department for the Muslims with hearing disabilities to encourage them to learn religious sciences.
The center has announced that holding courses on Arabic language teaching, forums on Islam, and presenting booklets including principles of Islamic teachings and consultation sessions are among the department’s programs.
It is also announced that by opening the department, the center aims to form a group of Muslim experts in Islamic sciences from among the deaf citizens to be able to meet the needs of this group of people, help them to cooperate in religious affairs and provide an opportunity for those interested in learning Islamic principles.
The group will also hold monthly forums and presents the sermons of Friday prayers and other religious observances in sign language for the deaf citizens.
