PHILADELPHIA, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf
(PSD) will offer a workshop on BABY SIGNS for hearing parents of hearing
children (newborn to 24 months) or prospective parents. Recent studies have
shown that through the use of gestures, parents can communicate with babies as young as 6 months of age, which is a crucial time in terms of infants
beginning to understand language.

PSD's first BABY SIGNS Parent Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 18
from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the School's new Early Childhood Center, 143 W.
Coulter Street in Germantown. Cost is $60 which includes a Parent Workshop
Kit containing Baby Signs: How to Talk with Your Baby before Your Baby Can
Talk, a Welcome to the Baby Signs Program DVD, a My Baby Signs Sample DVD, and a laminated quick reference guide with 67 useful signs.
