ATLANTA AREA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF SENIOR CLASS TAKES 2ND PLACE @ THE LEGO LEAGUE ROBOTIC COMPETITION - iReport.com
The AASD Robotic Team, known as *Deaf Bots+,+ *showcasing their robotic design, programming skills and knowledge took second place honors for their research project at the FLL regional competition held at Shamrock Middle School on December 6, 2008.
The team was explicably excited and no doubt surprised at their win. After receiving the coveted trophy, Andrew Brown, Alex Pectus, and AJ Dowels ran over to hug all of the judges. The team got a rousing standing ovation from the gathered spectators and competing teams. The unexpected win was a very emotional experience for them.
The Deaf Bots will rest up and plan hard for their next competition which will be at the annual FLL World Festival in conjunction with the FIRST Championship coming up April 15 - 18, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.
