Arizona Lottery Millionaire Raffle Winners Come Forward

What a way to start the new year. An Apache Junction couple is $1 million richer -- they hit the jackpot in the Arizona Lottery's Millionaire Raffle, and Wednesday, they picked up their check.

Deanna and Roger Phillips walked into the lottery office thinking they'd won a thousand dollars -- turns out they're millionaires.

"If I'd known I was going to be a millionaire I would have changed out of my gym clothes," says Deanna.

The Apache Junction couple bought the winning ticket at their neighborhood Safeway. It cost $20 to play the holiday raffle. That twenty changed their life.

Roger Phillips is deaf, so a sign language expert was brought in as the happy couple was given their million-dollar check. Both are retired, and aren't sure how they're going to spend the money.

Deanna says they may take a trip for their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

After taxes, the Phillips will walk away with $700,000.

Good on them! Hope they get to achieve their dreams even at their age. :)

Hope they enjoy their retirement with the money! Congrats to them!
