Well, the most basic approach of CSS is the element, property, description and its values. CSS further allows for better editing by affecting individual elements through classes and id's though ID have special properties that classes do not, mainly in the identification one particular and specific element. The rest is just knowing what properties will work with what elements and what most browsers will support.
