I stumbled upon this article and was amazed about the potential:

I've always been hesitant about receiving a cochlear implant and have been hoping for a better alternative.

Isn't that assuming you have a conductive loss as opposed to sensorineural?

hmm. If I'm reading Wikpedia right...PopSci is wrong? I'm not very well-versed in the differences between sensorineural vs. conductive hearing losses.

Looks like the device simply bypasses vibrations from the outer/middle ear and isn't related to what sensorineural does (and what cochlear implant does is unrelated to this device).
