Anybody else got this problem?

I normally wear 2 aids and I hear very well with them and being profoundly deaf and I do not ever touch the volume.

In the past week, I've had to wear one aid or the other aid due to ear mould problems.
What I've found is no matter which aid I am wearing, I have to turn the volume all the way up and I still feel like I'm hearing nothing.
Anyone else find this?

Do you think it's my brain?

That's what unilateral hearing is like.

It's one of the reasons that for many,being SSD is a lot more like being deaf than hearing.

You need two ears to locate sounds, understand if there's any background noise etc.
