An event for deaf actors - News Guardian
YOUNG deaf actors in the borough are inviting people to a special event on Thursday, February 28, showcasing some of their work.
The youngsters, all aged under 19 and who are deaf or have hearing difficulties, have put together a collection of short film clips based on Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and many more.
Some of their work is on display in The Shiremoor Centre tonight with a special short film entitled Star Wars: Episode 7.
The free event starts at 5.30pm and anyone is welcome to come along.
The group, which is part of the North Tyneside Disability Forum, would welcome new members for future performances including Primeval and Doctor Who.
No acting experience is necessary and the group is open to all deaf youngsters aged up to 19-years-old.
The group meets at the centre in Earsdon Road, Shiremoor, every Thursday evening from 5.30pm to 7pm.
For further information on the disability group contact Derek Craigie on (0191) 200 8574, fax (0191) 200 8570, or e-mail derek.craigie@ntdf.co.uk
