American School for the Deaf announces appointment of Assistant Executive Director - Business - West Hartford News
The American School for the Deaf is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey S. Bravin as Assistant Executive Director. His responsibilities will include supervising all aspects of the PACES Program to include educational, clinical and residential, and Core Residential Life Program. These two programs account for one-third of the ASD staff. In addition, he will supervise the ASD Student Health Center, Information Technology Services, Security, Athletic Programs, Camp Isola Bella, Alumni Relations and special projects as assigned by the Executive Director. “Jeff Bravin has a proven track record of excellent service and support to Deaf students and the staff who with them. As a Deaf professional with appropriate training and credentials, he will help ASD move forward as we continue to provide and promote excellence in all we do” said Executive Director Edward Peltier.
Mr. Bravin has been with the school since 2002 serving as Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement, Director of Special Projects and most recently Senior Manager of the PACES Program for deaf and hard of hearing students with emotional and behavioral disorders.
Mr. Bravin graduated from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. with a B.A. in Government. He received his M.S. in Deaf Education from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) and a M.S. Degree in School Administration and Supervision from Queens College. Mr. Bravin currently serves on the Advisory Board for State of Connecticut Commission of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired; a Board member of American Society of Deaf Children; and a representative for Connecticut Council on Organizations Serving the Deaf. He lives in West Hartford with his wife, Naomi and three children.
