I wanted to insert a thought or two here... feel free to add yours :)

It spreads bad vibes if the adults are seen squabbling about differences in opinions, IMO. What happened in agreeing to disagree? Seems to me everyone can be on a different page in a thread, and it doesnt mean there has to be an error in way of thinking.. just think of it in this way... introduce another point, that can co-exist with other points others are making.

What do y'all think?

Liza..Liza...our wise mediator...thank you for bringing this up! As always, you are very right! :applause:

The forum is filled of diversity. We all are here to learn. We dont have to agree but at least we can agree to disagree with respect and try to look from their own perspectives. :smash:

Careful, Meg, I might grow a bigger head there... but I am also known to be wrong ;) Thanks for your support!

*getting a pin to deflate Liza's ever-inflating ego....errrrrr head* :whip:

Liza, dahling! VERY good thread. :) Thank you SO much for bringing this to the table.

Too often we see squabbles that usually end up with members complaining about so-and-so and what he/she said...and then topics that start off innocent become FAR too heated and often, the thread becomes about an entirely different issue.

If you disagree...I strongly believe that saying so is perfectly fine. However, do so respectfully, and adding a few facts/links to support WHY you disagree would definitely go over a lot easier than "I know I'm right, you stupid &%$%#$%!!!!!"

I will be very honest here, I don't expect others to agree or see it the way I see it when it comes to dissuss currently things or debate whatever issue it may be about....As long I discuss issue in a way as I can with kindness and respect for one another....But, I don't approve of the way where someone can jumped in and say " quit your b*tching " or " you're dead wrong " when many of us are allowed to speak up and explain why we see it that way.....I keep an open mind on both sides, and sometimes I agree with others posts later when I see where other members are coming from....

But lately, I get private message saying that I always want to see things my way and not theirs, and that not true at all...I may not agree with everyone here and everyone don't agree with me either, but it doesn't mean I expect them to see it the way I see it.....I like to read everyone's post from time to time and I learn alot of things from others not just from my own view or opinion...But when someone disagree with my view I expect them to come across in a nicer way instead of telling me that I can not read or get my a** up and do something about it when I don't do this to any members here in AD, I let them vent out and see where they're coming from on this issue...

I will admit I had my share of mistakes too and I'm not perfect myself, but at least I keep an open mind on both sides instead of my own views or opinions here....

It seem that people get the wrong idea from me and they don't bother asking me either....

There are alot of threads that I had not posted in and seeing only two of them debates back and fourth, and I don't say anything or telling them to quit it cause this happen to be a forum where we can agree to disagree no matter how many posts you made in that thread....

If I happen to strongly disagree with someone, I tried to be polite ( sp? ) as I much as I can cause I hate to hurt people's feelings, that just who I am....

Edit I may be wrong, but I have a strong feelings this has to do with US two?...

Angel, thanks for sharing your POV! It is welcomed, too. :thumb: We cannot tell each other what to think and what to do, or whatsoever... we can only introduce our points to the mix, and be ok with others having different opinions or points. It's like.. "listen to my point! listen to my point! yours is not important!" that can get problems quicker than Levonian squeezes a banana outta its peelings. ;)

And I'm not perfect myself either. *hugs* We have our ideas of perfection, though... right?

Although... in the immortal words of Alexander Pope on what perfect is... he would think we all are perfect already. Because we are able to do what we are capable of.. what we were born for.

Thanks, Malfy... Me good worm can opener, though. But then again, we all have that in common eh?? Can only make life more interesting.

I'm sort of lost at that line there.....Care to explain it a bit more please?

It's like this... I see it as getting a bit out of line when members make it a pissing contest between who is right and who is wrong in a THREAD of a discussion group. We all gotta make allowances, right?

Alexander Pope says it well in his first epistle from his Essay on Man:

"Safe in the hand of one disposing Pow'r,
Or in the natal, or the moral hour.
All Nature is but Art, unknown to thee;
All chance, direction, which thou canst not see
All discord, harmony not understood,
All partial evil, universal good:
And, spite of pride, in erring reason's spite,
One truth is clear, whatever is, is right."

And you see, Eve.. that's the difference between me and you... I am the nice one, and you think you can wear the horns. But we're made from the same cloth. You are perfect the way you are, and so is Angel. We all fit each other very well with our own... *ahem* differing extremes, yeah?

And you see, kids, that is why philosophy rules... it can afford to create a new position if it doesn't like the present positions offered.

:naughty:

I don't know... I kinda like seeing you groveling, eve.

oh, don't worry dearie, I'll have you on your knees begging for mercy before tis all said and done.....and you will ENJOY it lol

I think we are making that wretched husband of yours jealous. Let's desist before someone asks us to get a room. :P What are you doing with that cattle prod? Wait! Help!

*now gagging and tying up Liza so that my POV can be more liberally dispersed* mwuhahahahahahaha
