All Made in USA & American Made

When I was working at Abilitywork, they had all of us to put label "made in china"
on products.

Are you guys sure jobs were shipped oversea?

Or companies are trying to avoid union and paying benefits.

That is the very first time I ever heard of that. If they told me to do that. I would raise hell about it. Get the spotlight on that bad corporate company and the 6 ' clock evening news reporter will do a story on that bad corporate company.

I find it very evil and sneaky that they hire disabled workers to put labels of the stickers, " Made in China " on their products then if a disabled worker speaks out. They get screwed around with and ulimately fired.

I am a proud American no matter what and would not stand for that garbage that the evil corporate companies are up to. Somebody will eventually blow the whistle on that evil corporate company.

You know that many American companies export labor to nations like China and they have been doing this for quite a while now? I know executives who do it all the time.

I noticed that most consumer electronics are rare being made in the USA. Most of them are made overseas, in general like for example DVD players, TVs, computer components, etc. etc.

New Balance continues to manufacture a percentage of its shoes in the USA.

Heath, good point about New Balance. The above quotation is from the New Balance page you provided. New Balance still exports labor overseas, they just market that they have some production facilities here.

Part of me goes, "Uh oh." When I see labor jobs sent abroad. But on the other hand, that means that the remaining jobs here are more skill-intensive. This has two bearings for us: first, this means that the skill quality of the average United States laborer will rise, which is good. The other implication is that if there is indeed an eventual international crisis, much of the goods manufactured from afar may become much more expensive and we may find ourselves in a fix.

Hi Endymion,

I did not notice that and thank you for pointing that out and yes especially when we are in a U.S. Homeland Security fix which in itself will be a blessing for the American workers , of course the AFL-CIO will continue to look out for the American worker. :) :thumb:

Blame on unions, they scares alot of jobs to overseas! There are so many union made products I couldn't afford! All because of HIGH labor cost! Union been unreasonable demanding more from their employers! Don't you notice how much American cars cost? around 70% of that costs goes to labor!!! WTF? I ain't wanna pay unionized worker HIGH wages while I get very low wage for SAME kind of work! :madfuck: Unions! Our local utility company became unionized last year and my utilty bill SHOT up almost DOUBLE!!! UNREAL!

The AFL-CIO is a very interesting group. They recently had a big split that hurt their power (and they have some pretty strong adversaries who encouraged the split). I find AFL-CIO President John J. Sweeney to be a bit amusing too, he's the kind of guy who can put on grease-and-grime work clothes and not mind a bit, though he's been the source of some controversy.

Diehardbiker, if you want to spout vehemently against the AFL-CIO , by all means then make your own thread on this and if you want to quit complaining go to a job that is union backed then you will be all smiles. I am Pro-Union. :)

Back in 1970, where there is strong union industries... now where are they?

The AFL CIO fought the NAFTA and the US-China pact.

It is our own American politicans that are sending the jobs overseas.

The AFL CIO did tell the US Politicans

" No , this is bad for our labor situation in the USA ".

Now the US Politicans are paying for it and pretty soon we will have a US President that is very Pro-Union and Pro-American Labor. :) :thumb:

Heath, I think it's interesting that you're conservative but you like the AFL-CIO. There are other conservatives who like the AFL-CIO, but generally conservatives (normally those who are pro-business) tend to be against the AFL-CIO.

That is because I suffered alots at low paying jobs or under the table and from now on, I make sure to work in a union backed job whenever possible.

If I owned my own business. There is no way I am going to pay my employees $5.75 with a 25 cent pay raise. That is cruel and sadistic.

" Here is your 25 cents payraise "

I never understood it and it made me sick to see people all excitied over a 25 cent pay raise.

Homeless people beg for 25 cents all the time.

The AFL-CIO has many interesting characters that could work to their benefit or against their benefit. They still remain very powerful even after the split. I know that the AFL-CIO will come back even more stronger than ever :)

Really? Then care to explain why General Motors is actually making more and more money than they ever did yet they are cutting more than 30,000 jobs?

(scoff)

Sorry, but it's the corporations who are being the cheapskates. The same goes for Wal-Mart... only god know how much money they make by keeping so many people on min. wages.

Heath,

I was once told by a very wise man that "a brilliant executive always overpays employees." He told me that if you pay an employee $7.75 an hour when the employee knows he's worth $8.00 per hour, the saved money the firm receives is by far offset by the disgruntled employee's lower morale and productivity. Conversely, if the pay is $8.25, the employee in theory will do much more to prove that he is in fact worth the extra money.

A classic example is when Henry Ford raised the wages for his employees to unheard heights. People called him loony, but you know what? The absent days dropped like a brick. Quality went through the roof.

It is my personal belief that if the employee is doing the job and doing it well, she should always earn a little extra. I want employees who are loyal and happy, not ones who act to sabotage me.

Care explain what happened to 25 steel mills that once in production in Pittsburgh. Now only 2 left....

Care to explain back in 1970, you could buy nice caddy for 5k bux, now it is 50K+

Care to explain why IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electricial Workers)refused to hire deafies?

Care to explain how my utiltiy bills got SHOT up by 80%, the utility company became unionized a year ago.

I have bet that you looking for cheaper products, same way with companies looking for cheaper labor, so that they can sell you products at lower prices.

Exactly and if you look at the Factory " A " and Factory " B "

Factory " A " makes $ 5.75 an hour.

Factory " B " makes $ 11.50 an hour.

Which one do you think quality and morale will go through the roof ? :) :thumb:
