Dear Joan:

Whatever happened to "Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye"? The series ended with a note on the screen stating "The End, for now." I loved the show and watched the reruns on PAX, but those have ended now. Do you know if they have plans to film the series again? Are the actors Canadian? I detect an accent in some. Also, do you have any info on projects they may be involved in other than that show?

Jan M., cyberspace

Dear Jan:

The network that produced "Sue Thomas," PAX, ran into financial difficulties and eventually stopped production on all of its original programming. It now mostly airs oldies from network television.

But the thing that makes this a difficult question to answer is that "Sue Thomas" was never officially canceled, a loophole that encourages fans who want the show to come back. It's been out of production for more than a year, but hope always springs eternal.

As for the actors, many of them are Canadian, and the show was filmed in Canada. Here's a rundown on the stars:

Deanne Bray, who played Sue, was born in Canoga Park. Bray, who is deaf, founded a reading club to encourage literacy in children and was teaching at a school for the deaf when her acting career took off. She has continued acting, appearing in "Rescue Me." She'll also be in a film, "Universal Signs," scheduled for release this year.

Yannick Bisson, who played Jack, was born in Montreal and moved to Toronto as a teenager. His most recent television appearance was last year in "Crazy for Christmas."

Rick Peters, who played Bobby, was born near Detroit. His most recent appearances were in the 2006 film "The Craving Heart" and television's "Veronica Mars."

Marc Gomes -- Dimitrius Gans on the show -- has recently guest-starred in television's "Criminal Minds" and "Commander in Chief." He was born in Georgetown, Guyana.

Enuka Okuma, who played Lucy Dotson, is from Vancouver, British Columbia. Her most recent appearance was in CBS' "Cold Case."

And Ted Atherton, who played Myles Leland III, is from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has two miniseries scheduled for next year, "The Company" and "Everest 82." He also was in "Hollywoodland."
