A Survey Opportunity

The RERC at the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Shepherd
Center both based in Atlanta, Georgia, are collaborating to monitor
the hearing aid compatibility of cell phones over the next five
years. Attached is a letter from them with a link to a short survey
they would like you to complete to find out the status of HAC cell
phones today. They will make comparisons each year for the next five
years to see what progress is made. Please take time to answer this
short survey and perhaps you will win $250 to spend at Amazon.com

Thank you very much

Hello,

The Hearing Aid Compatibility Act of 1988 (HAC Act) requires that
landline telephones manufactured or imported for use in the United
States after August 1989 be hearing aid-compatible. In 2003, the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted rules to make
digital wireless telephones (cell phones) compatible with hearing
aids and cochlear implants.

The Wireless Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (Wireless
RERC) [www.wirelessrerc.org] is monitoring this regulation and is
interested in how it impacts the usability of cell phones for people
who use hearing aids and cochlear implants.

We invite you to complete a brief survey about using a cell phone.
We plan to conduct this survey once a year over the next 5 years to
track any changes in cell phone and hearing aid compatibility.

To take the survey, just click here:

http://www.wirelessrerc.org/survey/hac_survey_06-2.htm

Everyone who completes the survey by midnight on July 21, 2006 will
be entered into a raffle for a $250 amazon.com gift certificate. To
be entered into the raffle, be sure to enter your contact
information at the end of the survey!

We greatly appreciate your participation and input. If you have any
questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me at:
