Neighbors: A special Lady needs a special home | Star-Gazette | stargazette.com
A deaf, 4-year-old white boxer named Lady was on her own until some special angels scooped her up and took her in.
Lady's angels are the staff at the Horseheads Animal Shelter, who have cared for the loveable pooch ever since.
But now, as hard as it will be to say goodbye, the staff needs to find a forever home for Lady, said Julie Hurley, one of the shelter's volunteers.
"Our Lady is a sweet girl with a wonderful disposition. She loves walks and is great on a leash and really enjoys spending time with staff, volunteers and visitors," Julie said.
Lady is also very attentive and would enjoy learning commands using hand signals. She isn't crazy about cats, though.
"She is also a patient, quiet girl who would thrive in a loving home," Julie said. "We are looking for a special owner for our very special Lady."
If she sounds like the perfect pet for you, please call the Horseheads Animal Shelter at (607) 739-3945 or visit her at 150 Wygant Road.
