This might be repost or not.

I might be interested in getting vp. But I have a question. I have DSL High Speed and I know that is the best to have vp. BUT the real question is that I have a wireless router. Would that work with vp or not? Pls let me know Thank you!

Do you have a wireless router that you can connect computers to in the back of the router? If so, then yes.

Which brand name of router do you have? There are some that are not compatible, but they're not common, so if you post here, we can let you know.

I have a wireless router but I dont have to connect to my laptop because it is wireless. Meaning I can move around with my laptop anywhere I go in my house.

But the router has like 4 plugs to plug for anything-I think.

The router is LINKSYS, Wireless-G 2.4GHz (54Mbps) Broadband Router.

Linksys routers do occasionally cause problems with videophones. I hope yours isn't one of them. Netgear and D-Link routers are the best for videophones.

Depends on the version nbr. I have v. 2 of that router and it has problems with VP-.

Sorenson and other VRS does provide wired router for free. So, you may be able to get them for free anyway.

I dont have a phone line. That is why I am wireless. :)

How about this one? would this work?

D-Link Broadband Videophone DVC-1000 HCDLINK-DVC1000?

or

D-Link Broadband Wireless Videophone DVC-1100 HCDLINK-DVC1100?

Thought those would work better, it is not free but it should be better for my wireless router or not. Let me know.

Well, the problem is, the VP you get for free from relay companies in the U.S. will not be wireless.

However, you CAN buy the D-Link Videophone DVC-1100 and THAT IS the wireless VP.

You really confused yourself. VP is NOT connected to phone company AT ALL!! That phone number have NOTHING to do with phone company at all. It is reference number where you can give to your friends instead of IP address and when yo dial up that number, it goes straight to Sorenson's server, and that server looks up for current IP address and viiola your connected. That is how it works.

You can get wired networked from cable modem or DSL modem.
I don't have phone and my network is 100% wired, for one good reason. I don't want any hacker or eavesdropping drive by and able to pick up the signal and crack into your system. This can happen if you don't set it up properly.

Another thing is get the free wired router than connect a wireless access point to it and a wireless bridge to the VP. Sorenson has instructions for this on their site. If you have a wireless router it can be changed to an access point in the settings and you only need to buy a wireless adapter or bridge, and of course get the free router with VP.

Juwst an idea.

Is happen to your laptop with Sprint wireless service before?

Hacker still get in your wired. Wireless or wired do not matter.

I have Access point and

SET SSID to hide
That's mean anyone can't find signal from my Access point.

Set Trust MAC address for my laptop only.

Even if your Linksys does not work with VP, you still can get the free D-Link router from Sorenson or the others, the installer should be able to plug it in this way...

DSL Modem --> D-Link Router --> Linksys Wireless router.

Then the VP-100 will be connected to the D-Link Router and your laptop will work the same, through the wireless router.
