Haumea (dwarf planet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

The Kuiper Belt Object named 2003 EL61 was named Haumea, after the Hawaiian goddess of fertility, and classified as a dwarf planet.

Its two moons were named after Haumea's daughters, Hiʻiaka and Namaka. The two daughters were thrown out of different parts of their mother's body, like the two moons having been thrown out of the dwarf planet in a collision. There's also a family of objects with similar orbits thought to have been created from collisions involving Haumea too.

The shape of Haumea is flattened due to its rapid rotation of about four hours. It has enough gravity to keep an ellipsoidal shape, so they could classify it as a dwarf planet.

Now we have five dwarf planets on the list, Ceres, Pluto, Makemake, Eris and Haumea.
