I was wondering, with all the cracks and comments about the Pittsburgh accent and dialect, if there are any signs or signing style unique to Deaf Pittsburghers.

I was surprised, when I met my Deaf of Deaf cousins, to find out that they have no name signs--I thought all DODs had them, from their parents. Then I found out that's not necessarily so.

That's an ageist assumption. True, most people with old age hearing loss don't learn to sign or want any part of Deaf culture, including some of my cousins, but not all of us.
