    Phonak Naida V UP

I-com and Naida V UP hook up Figures! I completely thought it was 'automatic' in the sense that nothing needed to be done w/ the hearing aid. Still, I am not sure if the audiologist tried that. Even if I asked, I am not sure the audiologist would tell me that wasn't done because of lack...

    Phonak Naida V UP

I-com and Naida V UP Geez .. . I wish I had watched to see if the audiologist had specifically done that. We were playing w/ the cell phone and the I-Com. She had the software up but I don't recall the audiologist making any activations w/ the hearing aid. I did ask if the hearing aid...

    Phonak Naida V UP

Phonak Naida V UP update I had to return to the audiologist on Monday because the I-com wasn't making any connections with my Naida hearing aid. After a good 50 minutes of working on the aid and trying to get it to connect w/ the cell phone, I-com and aid, it was determined that there was...

    Phonak Naida V UP

I got my I-Com yesterday and I loved it when I could get it to work! However, as of this evening, I can't get it to work and I don't know what I am doing wrong. Very frustrating.

$6,000 ??? Why so expensive? What makes this hearing aid unique? What kind of a hearing loss do you have?

    Phonak Naida V UP

Phonak Naida V UP update Hi! Went to the audiologist for adjustments to get rid of that hollow/echo-y/compressed speech sounds in both calm situations and speech-in-noise situations. When the audiologist attached the hearing aid to the computer, she asked if I was hearing any differences. I...

so..i'm getting a new hearing aid.. XD

I understand how you are feeling. I hope the Phonak Naida works for you! I am currently 'testing' it and have gone to the audiologist at least 5 times since July 16th for adjustments. I have my next appointment this Friday. Once you get the Naidas, check out the Naida thread. It might help...

so..i'm getting a new hearing aid.. XD

CDMeggers-- Do you still have the Phonak Naida? If so, what's the update with it? I've been posting comments/questions on the Phonak Naida thread. I haven't gotten the results I want with the Naida yet and I've gone for adjustments I think about 5 times so far. It's frustrating. I do...

    Phonak Naida V UP

Awesome!! I tell you, audiologists DO not always understand what we are trying to explain....but if we meet them halfway and give them the key word they need to hear that corresponds to what we think our situation is, the faster they fix it..... I'm lucky to be able to know some of this...

If initially you wore analogue equipment, then changed to digital....

analog hearing aids I've had the Phonak analog hearing aids for such a long time. I had tried on digital hearing aids a few years back and did not like them at all. Last year, I was told that analogs would no longer be made (sure enough, Phonak is not making analogs anymore as of this year)...

    Phonak Naida V UP

Naida V UP adjustments For example, if I select Calm situations, Speech in Quiet, I have the options: "too loud, too soft, too bright, dull-muffled, hollow-tinny, hollow-boomy, echoing-reverberating, not sufficiently intelligible, /s/ inaudible, and too much lisping". If you have the echo...

Naida V UP I Com? Smartlink X? I am so not tech savvy. In fact, the latest technology available intimidates the heck out of me. As a veteran teacher, It's daunting for me to learn to use the SMARTboard that's currently in my classroom with the computer! Question: what is the biggest...

    Phonak Naida V UP

HI! I meant to say the power isn't in the Phonak analog as much as the Naida V UP. I just got back from the audiologist and she made some more adjustments. I guess she had to reduce some of the power today to eliminate the hollow speech sounds (including mine) that I was hearing. It's a...

    Phonak Naida V UP

I had the same problem. I now set and keep my hearing aids to the 'speech in noise' mode. The button on the hearing aid is pushed another time so the focus is more on the speech sounds than the wind. However, I did notice yesterday while talking to someone who had music going on in her office...

Very Interesting...a simulation of normal hearing vs. 24 channel CI simulation

Certainly would be nice to see 'hybrids' come out in the near future. The mere fact that individuals' residual hearing is destroyed when CI's are put in is the primary reason why I would not opt for a CI now. Wendy

    Phonak Naida V UP

Phonak Naidi V UP Leo, You seem to be well 'versed' with the Naida V UP. My audiologist made some adjustments and it seems to be a little better. However, I am still hearing some of that 'echo-y' quality of sound and the clarity of speech sounds is still not quite there. The...

    Phonak Naida V UP

Phonak Naidi V UP I've gone to the audiologist 3 times so far to make adjustments w/ the Naida V UP. The last adjustment was done 2 days ago and while I was in the office, it sounded like the audiologist was able to get rid of the reverberating/'echo-y", compressed sounds (speech sounds not...

    Phonak Naida V UP

Thanks , Leo for your immediate response. I was JUST perusing the Hearing Aid Forums | Hearing Loss | Hearing Aids - Powered by vBulletin site. I need/want to continue reading through the forums posted. It's DEFINITELY possible that the audiologist I'm currently seeing is not familiar with the...

    Phonak Naida V UP

Hi! I am a new user of this site. I JUST got a Naida V UP and from what I'm reading, I've got the same complaints with this new aid. I have a 90 db loss in the speech frequency range. I have had the Naida hearing aide since July 24th and have gone back 2 times to get adjustments. I continue...
