    AllDeaf's Biggest Loser

I can keep updating.... I am down to 200 now. but I think the med that is causing me to lose weight might be affecting my liver... call it a hunch I guess. Got some symptoms that might suggest it, nothing outright yet.... not like I am turning yellow. But so that updates my weight loss to 67lbs...

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

I meantioned no time to see my ENT because I think he gets how the scheduled ones never work out! He told me not to schedule my next audiogram but to come in on a "bad day" if they were open and I felt those symptoms and they would fit me in and do one. Because he gets how menieres is hit or...

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

Ahhh I just had a day of not "hearing" anything right...... one of my bad days I guess. Seemed like no one wanted to face me to talk and everything sounded like the teacher from "Peanuts" with my hearing aids. And everyone kept giving me looks like "why can't you figure out what I am saying?" I...

Wow, I hope they get it covered and there isn't to much damage.... water is the worst! We have had some storms, but not flooded yet! I guess a couple (tiny) tornados touched down this week.... not that we are in a normal area for them. Nothing like a couple years ago though. My friend...

    After a pet passes

We had a dog for 8 years before we moved to take care of my great grandmother and could not bring her. Although she did not pass away, and we found another family to love her, it broke my heart and was the hardest thing for me to leave her behind. We were supposed to get updates on her and never...

    Anyone need/want a hearing aid?

Well at least for my idea, she said their audi is not going to work. That relationship has broken and so they would prefer not to take used HA's in donation. She did say there are groups who take them, service them, send them to groups and then watch who gets them... like Donate used hearingaids...

    What makes you happy?

I am interested in two questions. 1) What makes you happy? (furthermore, what would make you happier?) TO many things to list Laughter simplicity surprises (not like parties but little things like a note in my lunch) my daughters smile a random hug from my daugher (she has autism)...

    Anyone need/want a hearing aid?

The school has audiologists and ENTS who volunteer services but they are unaided cause of the costs of the aids, my friend told me. They had donations of accessories before. I could ask her about those details for you. (she plays scrabble on FB with me!) I tried to see if the HearNow program...

    Anyone need/want a hearing aid?

I know of a mission deaf school in PR who has kids on scholarship, most unaided who could all use them. I have two friends there who donate their teaching, one is the principal. All the kids have profound losses. umm the school is: Welcome (they are the ones who taught me my first ASL as a kid)

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

I can see how a fast transition might be good, but I think personally I prefer this gradual decline. It is allowing me to still somewhat grasp things as I am learning sign, before I am thrown into a world of silence. I already miss my daughters laughter a lot of the time and it was one of my...

    For my daughter

I am sorry it took me a little time to respond, we were away for the weekend at an Autism Family Weekend this weekend. It was our first conference we were able to attend becuase a local group sponsored us to go! It was the first time we have gone out and I could honestly say my daughter was able...

    For my daughter

Autistic girl expresses profound intelligence. [VIDEO] This made me cry. My daughter has been diagnosed with Autism Disorder and is still learning to speak. Many people comment that she "sounds deaf" though she has no hering probems that we know of. I am hoh and may have meneire's. We are...

Had my allergy testing this morning. 42 injections.... ugh. He thinks though I do have 8 allergens that they may not have been strong enough to effect the menieres enough. Still working out the test results I guess. Fun fun. Been a long day!
