Hey all, let me introduce myself. I'm senior in the highschool, and I'm deaf with CI. As everyone knows it's not easy to learn how to speak when you're deaf(Well...maybe it's just me). One thing that I don't get is, why would people tell you that your speech is great even through it's no-where...

I've been to Panama. Hence my user-name, Volcan Baru(google it) You could say that Panama is the only place in the world. If you get on top of the mountain(Volcan Baru Mt), you can literally see both of the oceans at same time.

When I have a conversation with someone who doesn't know how to talk with deaf(you know the one who talk fast and quietly). I just pretend to understand them by going "uh huh, mmhmm, oh yeah?" because it seem to me, it's really awkward to ask to say it again for million times. Group...

I know how you feel, I'm profoundly deaf with CI. My speech are so-so, depend on how comfortable I feel with other people. However, my communicating skill in the group is really...really bad. I can't handle more than 3 people talking, and they don't notice me because I'm usually left out. Back...
