What does it have to do with having social skills? The fact that I do have them, I had a group of friends in middle school, saw where they were going, then found a new group of friends. Sounds very sociable to me. Smart if I might add. What does it say for teen alcohol use, or smoking?

Or perhaps having a good head on your shoulders prevents drug abuse, etc.

Incase you haven't noticed the number of teens increasingly using drugs, smoking, and drinking have increased. If you read the other post you would know that had I chose to stay with my middle school friends I may very well have ended up like that.

You should know that I did in fact speak out about ASL, i said that it wasn't very effective in a group situation and no matter how effective it was that I didn't care for it and it wouldn't help me in the career I have planned.

I would, not in football though. It seems to be my most hated sport. I prefer soccer, baseball, or basketball.

Actually I don't partake in sports because I have CF, which as you may or may not know causes lung problems. Running is fairly difficult..

You may or may not be referring to me in this post. But I did state that it was to CI patients. I never said that I was being attacked or threatened. I also stated that ASL wasn't a bad thing, it just didn't work for me in my particular situation. You should know "learning social skills" can...

I have to say i was rather disappointed to be treated so rudely by a hearing person on an all deaf forum. I was hoping my thread could be beneficial to someone other than me in the long run. I guess in 2011 I'll have to post a new thread so I can tell everyone how activation goes. PFH/Jillio...

I also had the sensors. They drill right past two major nerves. If they nick one it could be the end of their career. Or at least a lawsuit would follow. Personally though. Anything that keeps me safe during surgery i'm fine with.

I'm not afraid of going deaf, I am deaf. I'm not angry about it either, I simply miss listening to music. I'm dealing with a different issue than hearing right now. And age doesn't matter unless your trying to get into a bar.

Age is nothing unless you make it something. Don't be so quick to judge. And I already have been implanted with a CI, and get activated next week. And yes I know how they work.
