    Hypermobile Eardrum

Mine is sensorineural loss, they think it may be related to a head injury that cause my to have a seizure a few years ago, but they're not sure and are therefore prone to laying the blame with EDS. I have a moderate to moderately-severe loss. I haven't had an MRI and probably never will because...

    Hypermobile Eardrum

I honestly have no idea on any of this, lol. As far as I knew my hearing loss and my EDS were totally separate things, I was curious myself when I posted. I don't know how over time will go- I'm 19, but my audi did seem to be concerned my loss may be progressive.

    New Phonak Spice

I just got my new aids! Phonak Cassia MicroPs. Purple and all. Even though I have a moderate/moderately-severe loss, they still have a slim tube on them and it seems to work alright, but I've never had one before. And they're so small! That's my thumb in the one pic, they're tiny for power...

    Cats & Cheese

My yellow monster likes asparagus... He'll sit on the floor when he smells it out of the can and whine and whine for it. He loves it, he'll even jump up on the counter and lap up the juice from it out of the sink if we don't give it to him.

    A Question For Homosexuals

Look up the research of Alfred Kinsey, he studied sexual sciences and came up with a scale from 0-6 called the Kinsey scale, with 0 being completely heterosexual, three being no gender preference either way, and six being completely homosexual.

Why do parents insist on ear piercings on babies and toddlers?

Nah. I'm pierced all the way down both ears, and the only problem you get is if you have the little flap on your ear- the tragus- pierced, or the anti-tragus, the little ridge across from the bump, or anywhere that also interferes with earmolds. Lol. Don't know is this would get in the way of...

    Child leashes

I'm a special education teacher, and I'd have to say that leases, when used correctly, are a -must-. It keeps the child safe, and lets them have the freedom of not having to hold your hand all the time. In our program with older kids we use a 'strap,' a leash connecting my wrist to the kid's...

finally got my new hearing aids!

Pictures? Lol. I saw a little fake model of the chili when I went to the audi yesterday, but not in a fun color! Lol. I'm getting purple phonak cassia microP (power) aids two weeks from yesterday! :D Excited! They accidentally ordered me microMs, too soft even when maxed out. Just plain clear...

FBI violated my son's ADA rights

It's horrible what this thread has turned into. We went from a mother with simple ADA questions, to accusing homosexuals of being sexual predators... I myself am a lesbian, and I work with exceptional needs special education students and a Christian- a Quaker. I would rather CUT OFF MY OWN...

    FM system?

There are a bunch of different kinds, the one I had back in high school had a wireless transmitter and receiver. The teacher wore a microphone and transmitter, and I wore a receiver that had a headphone jack, I had headphones that hooked over the back of my aids and transmitted the teachers...

Questions for those who wear hearing aids?

Hi! I myself have very sensitive skin, and I know that babies do too. If he has colored moulds, it could be a reaction to the coloring agent. I get hypoallergenic moulds, which keep me from having an allergic reaction to the material they are made from. If you think that that is a possibility...

    Earmoulds

Uhg, mine are the hypoallergenic ones, it's just that they don't fit right or something. Turns out they're not completely in canal, they're just canal, so they are not all the way in my ear, but not standard size. Hurt like hell though.

    Earmoulds

Don't know, it seems to have this like, edge on it or something. It hurts, and sometimes pops when I open my mouth all the way.

    Earmoulds

I've called them, and my fitting for the -correct- aid is Monday March 21st, I'm going in on Wednesday the 9th about the earmould though as it simply hurts to much to wait now. It hurts when I leave it in for more than a half an hour, and if I wear it for a few hours and take it out, that whole...

    Earmoulds

It's a pretty small place, only one, maybe two audis and a lot of speech and hearing grad students. There aren't really many other places to go to around here, and certainly no other ones I can walk to, or trust me, I'd be out of hear! Their receptionist alone is enough to make me never want to...

    Earmoulds

I only have a moderate hearing loss. I'm also kinda having trouble telling whether it's the earmoulds that are making my ears hurt, or the fact that my wisdom teeth are coming in.

    Earmoulds

I recently got new(but wrong) hearing aids, and with them, my audi got me the completely in canal moulds. Basically just the little part that goes in your ear, like a custom ear bud. She didn't tell me about this, and just did it. I've always had the full or skeleton mold, where there's...

    Leak!

No, it's not leaking poop, lol, it was an exclamation of panic... We have three leaks in the bathroom and one in the bed room, it's not over either of our beds though. We're on the top floor of our building, and we called building maintenance on Friday. They still haven't shown up... We couldn't...

    Leak!

Our ceiling is leaking. Pooooooop. Three leaks in the bathroom, enough to fill a bucket every two hours or so, and one in the bedroom, fills a big drinking glass every 45minutes. It's almost midnight. What do we do? Uuurg, hate this!

    Phonak Solanas

I dunno, I guess I can ask her at my fitting on Monday. It would help if my greatest hearing loss wasn't in the low frequencies like it is.
